America to research jaguars. The description of life in the jungle with only the local Maya Indians for neighbors while living at an abandoned logging camp in the middle of the rain forest is incredibly vivid. Scientific articles often result, but only rarely do the biologists produce intimate stories of their experiences, personal as well as scientific.
